Books, Binders, and Farminars

After the conference we were inspired. I went to the library and cleared them out of all their books about organic farming. We started a binder of information. And, we began attending FREE weekly webinars from the comfort of our living room sofa about how to be a farmer through Missouri Beginning Farmers and Practical Farmers of Iowa.

Missouri Organic Association Conference

From February 10-12th, we attended the Missouri Organic Association Conference in Springfield, MO. We learned about grant information, hoop houses, and vegetable production. The highlight was taking a tour of Millsap Farms.

Eliot Coleman - The guru of organic farming

In order to prepare to be future organic farmers, I went to Barnes and Nobles and got us some new reading material. Of all the books, I thought that this Eliot Coleman book looked the best. Later, we find out that Coleman is essentially the guru of organic farming literature. After reading the book, Damian stated that this is a, "must read, time well spent, and informative!"

Sharing a passion for growing healthy food

This is my adorable boyfriend, Damian. We met on a hiking trail December 26, 2009. We share a passion for the outdoors, cooking, and hard work. In late 2010, he told me that he wanted to be an organic farmer. I loved this idea! :) So, the experiments began!
